Created in Holland in the 1980’s where it was referred to as ‘Amsterdam Tree Sand’, our Structural Urban Tree Sand has been specifically created for planting trees in populated urban areas, where there is a need to avoid compaction.
Blended from specially selected graded silica sands and organic PAS100 compost (the British Standard for composts) and screened to 10mm, the end result is an aerated, fertile planting media with good drainage that allows oxygen and moisture to travel through to the root system, aiding strong and healthy growth. This specialist material has been designed for use in busy urban environments, where it is able to maintain heavy footfall and vehicle movements without the fear of compaction and subsequent root damage.
Our Structural Tree Sand should be used in conjunction with our washed tree pit subsoil.
Tested and accredited by the UK’s leading soil scientist Tim O’Hare Associates for use as a Structural Tree Sand.
Product Accreditation
