TRADITIONAL JOHN INNES COMPOSTS

Our range of John Innes Compost blends are true to the traditional 1930’s John Innes recipes with our John Innes Seed, Cutting, Potting and Ericaceous Composts all blended in-house to the traditional John Innes specifications, using carefully selected loams, which are naturally sterilized, a sphagnum moss and sedge peat blend, a 2-5mm Cornish Horticultural Grit and the John Innes mix of compound fertilizers exactly as specified all those years ago.

BLENDED TO EXACTING PROPORTIONS AS PER THE ORIGINAL JOHN INNES GUIDE

All the ingredients are blended to exacting proportions as per the original John Innes Guide, which are designed to achieve the optimum air and water holding capacity and nutrient content for different types and sizes of plants.

John Innes Cutting Compost

Suitable for:
A traditionally made mix for sowing almost any type of seed, with sufficient nutrients for early development. Can also be used for rooting cuttings.

Suitable for:
A traditionally made mix for general potting of most house plants and vegetable plants into medium size pots. Contains double the amount of nutrients found in our John Innes No 1 Mix. Best suited to houseplants and vegetable plants in containers.

John Innes Ericaceous Compost

Suitable for:
Our blend is a selected loam that is naturally sterilised mixed with a sphagnum moss and sedge peat blend, a 2-5mm Cornish Horticultural grit and then we carefully add flowers of sulphur and superphosphate. Our John Innes Ericaceous Compost can be used indoors or outside In containers or pots.
