A well-rotted, nutrient rich horse manure that is sourced from known and trusted stables. Produced from natural wood shavings and stable manure, our selected horse manure does not contain any weed seeds, whilst our composting methods ensure that our composted manure is free of pests and pathogens and has minimal odour.

Well-rotted, our horse manure contains a wide range of natural vitamins and essential minerals which are crucial for strong healthy root and plant growth. These include nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, making this material ideal for use as a soil conditioner, dressing and mulch in a wide range of planting applications but especially for use on rose beds. Whilst horse manures generally have a naturally high alkaline pH of 8.5 plus, when used as a soil improver, the manure compost is likely to have a slight acidifying effect on the target soil due to the high ammonia content present.

For general use, we recommend spreading a 50mm layer of horse manure over the area to be treated, before forking or rotating into the soil. Where there is a need to boost nutrient levels in very poor, hungry soil, you could increase the manure layer to 75mm.

Please Note: This product is not ideal or recommended for potting or seeding, for such applications we would recommend our Multipurpose Compost or John Innes. This product will also contain minimal weed seeds.
