Guaranteed Peat Free, our finely graded, selected Organic Soil Improver is one of our most popular composted products, and it is produced using only natural composted organic materials which are contaminate free. Fully certified to BSI PAS100:2018 (the British Standard for composted materials), our Organic Soil Improver is a friable, dark rich fine compost packed full of natural nutrients and minerals, which will slowly release into the soil over time, hugely improving the natural properties and performance.

Richer in Organic matter than either manure or mushroom compost, our Organic Soil Conditioner is finely screened to 10mm with an Alkaline pH; this naturally composted organic material is superb for improving all types of soils, particularly heavy clay soils and sandy loams, where it will increase organic matter and naturally boost nutrients and nitrogen levels whilst also enhancing and restoring the structure and stability of the soils including improved water retention.

For general soil improvement, spread a 50mm layer of our Organic Soil Improver over the area to be treated, then fork or rotavate into the soil. For very poor and hungry soils, you could consider increasing the application to 75mm or 100mm.

Please Note: Organic Soil Improver is very rich compost and should be mixed with soil before planting. It is not suitable or recommended for potting, seeding, young plants or to be used as a direct growing medium as results may vary. In these instances, we would recommend our Multipurpose Compost or John Innes for these applications.

Organic Soil Improver is a bi-product of the green waste industry. Whilst we only source our Soil Improver from known trusted sources who test the material regularly to BSI PAS100:2018, Bury Hill Landscape Supplies does not produce the Soil Improver directly and as such cannot ever guarantee the ingredient, chemical or nutrient composition found in the compost. Soil Improver is a natural product, which is derived from naturally composted green waste materials which have reached critical temperatures during the composting process, which kills the vast majority of weed seed.

Soil Improver on very rare occasions can contain trace amounts of plastics, which are unavoidable and come in directly from the Green Waste process.
